The R-square returns the squareof the
Pearson product moment correlation coefficient,
which consists of a dimensionless index that ranges from -1 to 1 and reflects the extent of a
linear relationship between two variables.
During evolution GeneXproTools updates continuously the R-square between the model output and
the actual values
and plots it in the Evolutionary Dynamics Chart in the Run
Panel.
The Pearson product moment correlation coefficientRi of an
individual model i is evaluated by the equation:
where P(ij) is the value predicted by the individual model
i for record j (out of n records);
and Tj is the actual value for record j.
